In an interview with video game publication VG247, Hiromichi Tanaka from Square Enix said that though the Xbox 360 version of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game hasn't been nixed, the company has decided to "pause" its development until some issues with Xbox Live are sorted out. Although the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIV is being held up, the game is still on track to hit its scheduled Windows PC release date of September 30. The PC version of the game will cost $49.99. Players will also need to pay a $12.99 subscription fee for every 30 days they play the game online. But will it be welcomed worldwide? Some say there is still a gulf between cultural tastes, a lot of western games don't take off over there, and many Japanese titles don't even get published western. some say there is room for both Japanese games and western games. What do you think? |
