EverQuest 2 Extended, or “EQ2X” for short, is the name of the all-new F2P (Free-to-Play) business model that PC MMORPG EverQuest 2 will now employ. That means that the game is now completely free to play for those who want to try the game out. And unlike some other titles, the free-to-play version is not necessarily gimped in any way, it offers the full game for those who play free. That means they can play up to level 80 and have complete access to all of the world outside of Expansion content. Although, naturally, there are a few restrictions for non-subscribers. Players who are playing EQ2X will be limited by class selection, race selection, limited coins, etc. In addition they will also have a new “robust marketplace” which offers “convenience” items, weapons and armor. This means that if you are lacking a shield, you can just go by an average one. Nothing in the marketplace will be great quality, but it allows the influx of new players into the game to get into it easier than ever before by having easy access to the weapons, armor and items that are needed for them to progress in the game at their level |
